Looking Like Love

When I was in my early teens a younger friend at church started to imitate me.

He started by adopting some of my interests, some of my sayings –  but before long he was wearing the same clothes and sporting the same ridiculously-over-gelled haristyle. (more…)

This Man Died Well

My Mum died of cancer when I was 8 years old.
God has been gracious to me by leading me to understand some of His purposes in my suffering. This man, Zac Smith, wrestled with his own ‘crook in the lot‘ and found God to be good to the end.

Since shooting this video, Zac died and went to be with Jesus. (more…)

Safe Church

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about why young people in my circles seem to close-up emotionally when they come to church.

Normally outgoing, friendly, fun-loving people turn to stone when their bums hit the pew. For some reason Church works like emotion-killing kryptonite.
