I just negotiated a brilliant culinary windfall.
On the way home from my involuntary, biennial dental appointment my salt-dependent brain decided that it was time to visit my favourite chicken-fryin’ Colonel.
As I approached the turn-off to calorie Mecca I halted. This was weird…
I started to think about my current body condition. “Honestly man, you’re starting to chub-up around the waist, aren’t ya?” – I told myself derogatorily.
“And hasn’t Renee specially gone out and purchased wholemeal pita bread and healthy ‘salad-like’ produce for you to eat for lunch? Well, hasn’t she?” – I continued.
And then it occured to me…
What if I were to purchase one of the Colonel’s finger-lickin’ good meals, and then combine them with my wife’s healthy produce?
I felt that I’d discovered something that I’d been searching for all my life.
It must be done!
I screeched out of the drive-thru like a bank robber with grease-laden-booty-in-bag.
The meal preparation was brief:
Pita bread open.
Bag of KFC emptied into bread.
Lettuce leaves scattered.
Cheese on top.
Pita bread closed.
It was heavenly. And quite obviously… healthy too.
It all reminds me of this very accurate commercial from the States:

Just came across this photo from 8th October 2005 – the morning I asked Renee to be my wife.

The sun was much lower when I actually began the proposal…
I’d written a five page poem, an allegorical saga, about our relationship up to that point.
In hindsight, the poem may have been a little long – especially when she had to wait for me to finish before she got to open the ring box.
Anyway, the picture prompts me to praise God for gracing me with such a beautiful, faithful, submissive, and life-giving wife.
