Heroes: JRR Tolkien

18 Aug

I’m on the look-out for good articles that focus on the men in my list of heroes (see my profile –>).
Click here to read one from “Oxford Today” on JRR Tolkien.
It’s a good, brief summary of the man, his work, and some recent developments… Don’t know about the “Lord of the Rings Musical” though!

Also, for Tolkien-philes…
Check out this rare footage of the Don himself – on “the Myth of the Rings”

Driscoll on Harsh Language

18 Aug

Love this video.

I know Driscoll has been accused (as have I) of using ‘unbiblical, offensive language’ in denouncing, rebuking, chastising others (particularly religious people).

I think Driscoll knocks this one out of the park… Can’t wait to hear what he says at DGNC 08.

Todd Bentley Hits the Fan

17 Aug

Readers who have been regularly bewildered by the antics of Pentecostal Evangelist cum Healer Todd Bentley will still be sniggering at the shameless play-on-words that is the title of this post…

Mmm… While I may have hit an all-time low in resorting to lame, barely decipherable word-plays, it seems the Man with the Healing Punch has likewise hit rock-bottom.
His credibility is being called into question.
His marriage is ruined.
And his ‘ministry’ has been hung-out to dry.

At this point, anything that I say is going to be interpreted by some as ‘Charo-bashing’, so instead I recommend you read a telling article by J. Lee Grady of Charisma magazine here.

Read it, and then pray for Todd, his wife and three young kids, and the many people who have been ministered to, and subsequently rocked by this breaking news.
